not sure what you have in the pipeline. but I wouldn't mind seeing a a version of RP items being added to the game similar to Benchmark, where at 300 RPP you get to design an item that is permanently added into the game. This doesn't cost 300 RPP but is something you get to make and then it is added to an RPP shop. Any player can then buy this item for 150 RPP (or some amount) and you get this first one, the one you make, for free.

I would personally prefer these "benchmark" items to be involved in your Roleplay somehow. for example, Taako's Magical Wizard Hat. Or Indon's Sciencey Sciencer. :P If these items were even +15 across the board they'd be some of the greatest items for almost every slot. The god items for example average 40-50 stat points total. Same as hellfire chains, total 44.

So the thought of introducing entirely new RP races was brought up in-game.

I might suggest that maybe big rewards like that be gated not behind individual RP scores, but behind the MUD's cumulative RPP total. This provides an incentive to RP for people who might be interested in RP and playing the new race, and for people who are disinclined to RP, they can sit at the sidelines, get a bit more engaged in the MUD's roleplaying community as eventually that RP activity will bring everybody benefits.

It's also easier to implement than a race that basically requires admin fiddling every time someone wants to make one.

Other major RPP bonuses, that would be too significant for individuals to earn, could be gated similarly.

Magic-Demons were originally introduced to the game as an RPP only race, so we have experience with this, and generally speaking, the MUD seemed fine. We eventually opened them up to everyone because Roleplayers weren't very interested in starting 'new' characters after investing the time to get that reward.

One version of 'Benchmark' Rewards I was considering was allowing players to basically design a mob to be put in any zone in the game that was appropriate for the mob, and that mob would have an item drop obtainable by anyone, but a special drop (+20 all) for the individual who created the mob. We'd set the mob to be 100 pl, and a 'smob' but the item would be 1t powerlevel requirement (Riz thinks this would be an appropriate way to compensate for Tiers no longer requiring PL requirements).

Just not sure how to 'price' that reward since it requires in-game, and in-rp investment. It's also, much more involved than the original benchmark items, and if the area the mobs are put in are removed from the game then it could lead to problems. An easy place to put these mobs could just be HFIL, and we remove all the street fighter characters and stuff.
