*Passing the Torch: The Salnor Legacy

Post by Lye » 10 Aug 2017, 21:12

It wasn't something any of them wanted to admit... Who would look forward to it... But their father had already cut them off, refusing to allow their aid in order to defend himself in what was his most needed time. He knew the inevitable... But his desire... He willed his children to obey... And to finish what his father had started back on Centari-Primus.

It was a moment of despair... Half of them were already exhausted from what he was willing to take... And now he refused to take anymore... And he had severed himself from them..

Himoyachi was the most drawn to action, he was the Oldest... The first drawn to action... A emotion through the link, a choice... One that didn't belong to their father... A rapid concurrence of those still able to contribute... His actions were rash... His tentacles deployed from his back, than drove through the center of his back before slicing upwards... In a second his 'everything' was sent to their father... A bulk of the others followed suit in some ritualistic way...

Talimaar had held back, along with a skeptical Robert and a battalions worth of Jules children. They loved their father, but ultimately... He had cut them off, refused their help... But more importantly... He had wanted them to finish what was started on Cenatri-Primus... He wanted them to carry on their grand-fathers legacy... He had made his will clear, but Himoyachi had been blinded in passion... Already his energy was coursing through the passive link to their father... Enveloping his seed...

Robert was cold, detached... Robert wasn't like the others, nor were his brethren... They were bred to carry on the mission whatever the cost, and the Tuffle Pupper-Master MacTep was a threat that would remain even if his fathers allies were successful... The mission didn't end... He stood with Talimaar, aware of Himoyachi's final acts, along with the legion that followed him to their death...

In was a brief moment, one that Jules didn't realize... The moment before the shockwave from the Crimson Queen struck him, Himoyachi was there... A blade cutting through the link between Jules physical body and the psionic manifestation on the battle field... Then another, a jolt of energy sacrificed to buy that manifestation time...

Talimaar and Robert both fell to their knees as their fathers essence... Vanished from them... It was expected, but they had a job to do... Robert took note of his forces, he still had two full platoons, well versed in the operations of infiltration and reconnaissance. Talimaar had a similar number of those who specialized in science in medicine... Two hundred in number... Two tenths of what their father had created to deal with the task at hand...

Time however, refused to cease with the loss of Jules, their very own puppet-master... And soon Robert and Talimaar were back on track to ending a Tuffle who had corrupted the political will of the Alliance...

Weeks after their father died it became apparent that he had been successful in his attempt to save the cosmos. Their work had progresses, uncaring if some inevitable doom was upon them. But time continued to pass, and that concern faded...

Robert was the first to depart the planet, commanding a platoon of his brothers and sisters who were programmed with military specialization Jules had duplicated during his escapades in Alliance territory psionically infesting anything that was remotely useful.

They would separate into two squads, using their simplistic transport ships. Robert's team would hit Earth's southern continent and work to scour the Earth looking for any trace of Tuffle. The second team was being dispatched to Legende, operating within the same mission parameters...

Talimaar and a support platoon departed a few days later, leaving only a bare-bones personnel to handle the on goings of their fledgling society. It had taken longer to appropriately construct a vessel that was tailored to the type of support they expected to provide, primarily medical and logistical.

As their father had willed... The mission carried on...

This log reads like a summary of events that could each have been their own separate roleplays. In a way it's very fitting for the Tuffle collective, as I imagine that each of Salnor's children's individual experiences are shared between one another in a similar way. I think a little more detail could have been added here in regards to MacTep (the Tuffle the Salnor line are hunting). Especially in regards to why the Tuffles chose the southern continent and Legende in particular to go hunting for him, or what their plan is once they do finally find and encounter them, but we can take from this summary that the goal is just to position your characters for a more explosive chapter, either where the two battalions are separated or so that they can pincer their prey. I believe this was written a fair bit before you called on Syhiver for help so that log may have disrupted whatever you had originally planned for here but with Venom in the wings, the Salnor Tuffles are in a great spot to aid the Alliance.

RPP rewarded.
